Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of KATS Passport (“KATS”, “the platform”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use KATS.

2. Who can use KATS

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use KATS. By using the platform you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.
• You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• One person, one account — please don’t create accounts to impersonate others or to evade moderation.

4. What KATS is (and isn’t)

KATS is a platform for logging and sharing the climbing gyms and crags you visit. Spot information, ratings and reviews are contributed by users and by us, and may contain errors. Climbing is inherently dangerous: KATS does not verify the safety, condition or accessibility of any location, and information on the platform is not a substitute for your own judgement, proper training, and appropriate safety precautions. You climb at your own risk.

5. Content you create

You keep ownership of the content you create (reviews, photos, spot information, messages). By posting it on KATS, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and share that content within the platform for the purpose of operating and promoting the service.

You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm that you have the right to share it (for example, that photos are yours or you have permission to use them).

6. Community rules

To keep KATS a good place, you agree not to:

• Post content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening or that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Impersonate other people, gyms or organisations.
• Post spam, advertising, or misleading spot information.
• Attempt to game rankings, titles or activity through fake check-ins or automated behaviour.
• Abuse, disrupt, or attempt to breach the security of the platform or other users.

We may remove content, hide spots or reviews, and suspend or ban accounts that break these rules or harm the community. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.

7. Crews and events

Crews and events are created and managed by users. Their creators and moderators are responsible for their content and conduct. We may intervene where content breaks these Terms, but we are not responsible for what happens within user-run crews or at user-organised events.

8. Your privacy

Your use of KATS is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect and how we handle it.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep KATS running well, but the platform is provided “as is”. We may add, change or remove features, and we can't guarantee the service will always be available or error-free. We may also update these Terms; when we make material changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.

10. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that could harm the platform or its users.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, KATS is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for the accuracy of user-contributed content, or for any injury, loss or damage arising from climbing activities or from reliance on information found on the platform. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer under applicable law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
